Curvature Ductility of Confined HSC Columns

Abstract To avoid brittle collapse of reinforced concrete (RC) structures, RC elements such as beams, columns, and shear walls are invited to ensure a minimum level ductility. In this paper, an analytical method for predicting the curvature ductility factor confined columns is developed. The stress–strain model provided by Eurocode 2 adopted, effective lateral confining pressure calculated according 8. defined ratio ultimate yield curvature. context, new hypothesis adopted calculate while based on axial load mechanical ratios tension, web, compression reinforcement. results showed that developed has excellent performance compared experimental collected from previous researches, where mean value standard deviation predicted factors equal 1.02 0.17, respectively.
